get in touch with us

As our family began to take a closer look at health and nutrition, we discovered the importance and value of grass fed beef.  We determined it was worth the extra money at the grocery store to have the best for our family. We are now thrilled to be able to offer grass fed beef from our farm. We love all of the animals on our farm, and it is very important to us that while our cows are with us, they are treated with wonderful care, never receive any hormones, steroids or antibiotics, and are never finished off on a feed lot. We understand that you may have a lot of questions for us concerning the cost and process of getting our beef from our home to yours. Please check out our FAQ’s below, and don’t hesitate to email us any questions.

We are here to guide you through the process.

James 1:17: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with no shadow of turning.”

Grassfed beef FAQ’s

Are your cows finished on a feed lot?

No. Our cows remain on our pasture 100% of the time.

Are your cows given any steroids or hormones?

No, our cows will never receive steroids or hormones.

How much does it cost?

We charge $3.75 per pound of the hanging weight for our beef. The processor charges $1.00 per pound for processing. So, the total amount is $4.75 per pound. In addition there is a kill fee of $60 per cow. If your purchasing half of a cow, it will be $30.

What is the approximate hanging weight of a half of a cow?

On average, the hanging weight for a half cow is somewhere around 280 pounds. It could be less or more.

Can I purchase a quarter of a cow?

Yes, we have had several customers only purchase a quarter of a cow. However, the processor only processes the cows in halves. So, we recommend finding a friend that would like to split a half with you. You will have to choose the cuts of meat that you would like together, and you will have to fill out the form together. Your meat will be processed together, and you can just divide it in half between the two of you once you receive it. You can pay us for each quarter separately.

Can I purchase a whole cow?

Absolutely

What is the name of the processor?

We use the Steel Buffalo Butchery. You can check out the cuts of meat they offer at their website: https://thesteelbuffalobutchery.com/products-and-services. They are a wonderful, clean processor that vacuum seals and labels all of your meat.

When do I pay?

You will pay a $100 deposit to reserve your cow once we make the announcement we have cows headed for processing. At that time, we will let you know the date they will be processed. A few days after processing, we will call you with the hanging weight. At that time, you will pay us the portion for the beef ($3.50 per pound). Then, once you pick up your beef, which will be a few days later, you will pay the processor the kill fee, plus the fee of .75 per pound.
